Are we made for sales or… running?

Wired reports that we have short toes so that we could run faster. Evidently running was the skill to master to catch prey and run away from predators. Now, language is much later developed trait than physical feature like short toes. Here might be something to consider when wondering why is it that athletes are paid so well. Well, they came first of course.
