Plane is the fastest means for traveling. Bomber is even better because it gets you there and opens doors like no other business card.

This week I’ll be traveling on business and with all the scheduled meetings I’m certainly  unable to blog during this week. Luckily there are scheduled posts. This is my second for this week, I’m sure you noticed it.

HOTEL LIFE
Checking in and inspecting the room. Rooms are always the same, except at Four Seasons and Hyatt, which have rooms that are always The Same. I hate the way hotels hide tiny fees across the board. Best Western usually has paid toothpaste while Holiday Inns can charge if you use their complimentary water bottle. It’s detective work, almost like James Bond checking the room for bugs.

BORING FOOD
I like to eat well and that is a problem while traveling. One has to be in peak performance while in sales negotiations and those times you just won’t risk by testing dubious steak joints or fascinating sushi bars. These are the times to dine in hotel restaurants or well known chain restaurants (ever wonder those suits who congestigate your local McDonald’s?) and the food is always the same. During the evening there are those obligatory beers at the bar etc.

They make it all look so fascinating in TV that over half of the young entry level people that I’ve discussed with chose the field solely based on the image they got from media.
