Sales stories carnival volume 3
Sunday, March 22, 2009 19:35I’m intrigued by the submissions that I get. Most of them are mindless and non-related to the topic. Looks like carnivals are attacked by spammers of about twenty submissions that I got only 3 are fit to publish.
BRILLIANT VIDEO POST
The best submission by far was Gavin Ingham’s video post on getting into the right state of mind to become a super salesman. Old school sales tips in a new format should provide every salesperson something to think about. Be sure to check his site for his newsletter and podcast.
INSPIRED BY SOMEBODY ELSE’S CONTENT
Charles H. Green from Trusted Advisor submitted a post, which is heavily based on podcast at Salesopedia with Jill Konrath. Article itself is very good, but as I always try to determine the best submission, this one loses because of direct outside influence. Otherwise Trusted Advisor might be even better sales resource than Gavin Ingham’s website.
TESTING
Praveen Puri is becoming a household item here at Fake Money Blog. This week submission deals testing. I am not going to tell more about this post, because you really must go there and read it by yourself. Now that I think of it, maybe this was the best submission after all.
Personally I have always wondered the popular approach to sales that do whatever has worked in the past. New salespeople are taught the old habits of an organization. By now everybody in sales should know that famous definition of insanity.
You should read the post above and really think about the lessons that you can go home with. The sales style that you have can be improved, just start recording your contact amounts and following sales pipeline results. This will give you are baseline and any small change in your style will have an impact on that baseline, some changes have bad effects and some have good. Try to focus on the good ones. ![]()
