Turbulent times create uncertainty and people are finding refuge from social media services. According to TechCrunch, LinkedIn has seen a boom in the growth of users. People are hoping to benefit from creating connections inside and outside of their industry. Wide network of contacts might help in finding a new job or blowing some life into an old one.

Networking is the second oldest way to sell anything, I’ll let you know the oldest bit later. Creating connections helps to get leads directly and indirectly. Direct leads are easy to understand, you get to know people and find out if they need something from you. Indirect leads are people who you don’t know personally but your direct contacts do know. Internet is especially good tool in building indirect leads via vast networks of people.
