Social media selling

How can you use social media to reach moms? Actually Noa Gafni defines the task little differently in Mashable, like this:
How to: Attract and engage social media moms
I DON’T WANT TO HAVE AN ENGAGEMENT
I don’t know about you, but what I want from moms is not their engagement I just want to sell to them. Have you ever wondered how these social media sites never run under specific company brand like IBM social media site for geegks? I’d say it is just because creating social media doesn’t sell anything.
MYTH OF CONVERSATION 2.0
The conversation which is supposed to happen in social media might create the need, but social media is not in position to fullfill that need, it’s media after all. At the point of buying one has to turn to somewhere else and with true social media spirit they would get recommendations from their friends. See, it doesn’t matter if you are in social media or not, people will pass on good or bad experiences they had with you. Just serve your clients and never get drawn into this bogus talk about companies needing to engage into conversation with their clients. They prefer having conversation with their friends anyway.
