This one is very crucial tip for any salesperson because it is so easy to spot. However, many starting salespeople get in trouble with it.

VANITY

You must know the customer type that talks about money - somehow makes a big deal out of how much she has it. They want to project an image of wealth and importance. What they don’t understand is that they actually reveal crucial information for an adept salesperson and that info is far from wealth and power.

To us their message says that they don’t have money and feel inferior about it therefore lifting themselves to gain acceptance and admiration from others.  There is another possibility, the prospect really does have lot of money, but values money over product value to a degree that sales are only possible with huge discounts. To me both types have a lot to do with vanity.

SAVE THE TROUBLE

I’d take a “Oh my god, we don’t have that kind of money” over a “Money is not an object” any day.
