SOCIAL NETWORKS IN SALES
People are talking about using social networks and internet in general to form contacts. Techcrunch ran a piece that showed us how masses are flooding to Linkedin. This should be some kind of proof that Linkedin is finally turning into beneficial tool in creating new clients and sales. Sorry, I don’t buy it.

CROWD OF PAUPERS
All those masses are there to get laid or to find a job or a sale. The ones who are looking for someone to get laid with are going to have as good luck as with any social networking site. The ones that are looking for job opportunities or buyers are out of luck. What do you sell to a room full of salesmen? Earplugs.

GRAB THE LOW HANGING FRUIT
Everything is not lost however, social media can be a good place to poach cold call targets. You asses your situation and see how your portfolio of clients needs to be improved - then you just do it. Pick a good company and start analysing who would be a good contact to get your foot to the door.  Now this is the point where I’m going to give you - A PEOPLETOUCHER! I know what you think, but rest assured it is not a site for perverts.

PEOPLETOUCHER
With this tool you can make refined searches inside Linkedin and wade through the crowd of possible targets. You could pick a category like technology, but imagine the list of people, which you would get. It would be almost similar as taking yellow pages and start calling. With this tool you at least get to narrow down your lead base and make more out of your time. The real heavy lifting still have to be done the old-fashioned way.
