Komia is Finnish and translates pretty accurately as “Damn I’m good looking bloke, just take a look at my biceps.” I got this pen from a marketing campaign launch luncheon. In that luncheon city government revealed their plan to market the region so that people all over Finland would have better image of this area or at least any kind of image of this area.

The meeting started with brilliant speech from marketing manager of Finland’s biggest meat processing company. Not too fancy, eh? No wonder this man runs the marketing department so accurate were his opinions on our small city. He had very down to earth plan for execution. So much down to earth that it didn’t really seem plausible to use any work groups etc. Just moments after my initial reaction of “Hey this might actually work!”, a consulting agency manager stepped up to the arena and totally leveled the audience with his consult jargon. My goodness it was so boring and impossible to grab. City region had brought outside consulting agency to tackle the task and results showed immediately.

Anyway the city wants to shine its shield and agency presented unified marketing material, which can be used as frames for various ads. Many colours and few shapes… yawn! They had also innovated a movable vidcast stand, which can be transported to different villages in the area and used to record authentic opinions about the region. Then after careful selection process only the positive opinions are showed… talking about freedom of speech, eh? Oh yes, they also gave out promotional pens a move that should bring them lots of positive visibility. Well, you can check by yourself, but my opinion is that it sucks, but their promotional pen is just fine.

So here it is. Writes well and has classic look with project logo on it. Slightly too heavy for longer usage. Basic tech with changeable ink cartridge. I would use this pen if no other pen would be around.
