In the mind of a retailer
Monday, June 8, 2009 22:37Greater public sees salespeople in pushy positions at malls and markets. This really skews the way we are treated. When I say that I’m a salesman by profession I get that weird look like something just got stuck to her throat. Yes, so cute, hansom, fascinating and sexy, but he is a SALESMAN!? That’s right, baby.
GIRL POWER
Well after that look I usually go into this long and winding conversation about the job and what I do and usually it ends up her wanting to change profession - after all she has been working in the cubicle for years now and all that has changed are the methods of how work tasks arrive to her desk. It used to be on paper or with phone, but now she has to keep up with so many different sources that she doesn’t know what to do.
BIG MONEY
But that’s not the point that I’m trying to make. I want to point out that there are loads of various sales positions to choose from. Most of them involving business clients and that is where the big money is made. A site called boost my product caught my attention with its article on how to sell retailers your product. It gives you a pretty good image on what it is to pimp your product to big retailers. Definitely worth the read.

The last two lines of the first paragraph–priceless!
That’s interesting, it’s almost like you’re selling someone a new job with only a basic intro–you crafty son of a gun!

Hi Dino,
Yes indeed, this sure is one interesting Blog. I also come here time and time again, just can’t shake it no matter how I try. But tell me Dino, have you ever had the urge to be a salesman?
Your loving friend
Jake

My lovely Melody,
I guess you’ve gotten weary to hear that old “Hearing from you is music to my ears” but I wrote it anyway. No amount of flattery is enough for a beautiful lady.
I’d rather see a price for those two lines, I’d be willing to let them go… any offers? Do I hear 5 cents? It’s a start of everything in Feng Shui you know… 5 cents anyone?
You get two lines from the end of the first paragraph. Those lines have been read by approximately 90 people so I’m willing to admit they are second hand merchandise. If you place them as a separate post, I’ll be willing to link into that post and place the link to your site to replace the original lines. People are curious and would bother to make the site jump to find out what was but is no more.
In true John Chow spirit this would also be counted into those rare internet firsts. It would be peculiar, but it would be a “first”. Or have you seen anything like this happening? So, going for 5 cents…

Jake,
Usually, I have to turn off the medley of Ella Fitzgerald songs regularly playing on my side, in an effort to fully take in your replies..
I’ve probably heard every single music related comment associated with my name, but the context in which its said determines whether it’s sour or sweet.
I’m not as clever as you to come up with lines that would work well …mine would probably reflect the cornball that I am..lol
Now, will you be accepting those 5 cents via paypal?

How odd, I have to turn Iggy Pop on just to be barely functional. To be honest with you, I prefer to deal in-kind with beautiful women like yourself. Now, that 5 cents will translate into about 1/100th of a second. Blink of an eye is already way too long for that. I once watched your video… hmm, does this mean that I owe you?

But videos are meant to be watched, if anything I probably owe you minutes of your life back, what would you owe me?

I’m drawing blank here. I realize that I don’t have a clue what would I owe you. Maybe we just call it even. You copy paste those two lines somewhere in your site, possibly a new post… just insert them as an integrated part of your own content. Tell me the link and I write a blog post of this garage sale of my content and link to you as an example. Naturally I’ll take the lines off from the original post and place a link there too in case anyone would like to know what used to be there. Sounds like some work, but at the same time it sounds like an oddball idea fitting for this blog.
