In recession the softer side of life gets noticed again. All entertainment related industries should do better than expected in that particularly difficult business environment. It is still possible to destroy companies if they are managed badly. Midway, a video game maker, has filed for Chapter 11. We have strong growth period behind us and even during downturn this should be an industry, which does well as people strive for entertainment.
Sales is often the best method to protect any company against competition, I’m betting that even in Midway’s case there is problem with the sales department. I know big part of this industry’s problems hovers around product development cycle, but it is possible to drop the ball in one category and still scramble to the goal.
