Don’t let thiefs take your content

THEFT

Who would have thought that I too use the word content. In the web it means just about everything but in the real life it means the stuff that you have in your bag after a successful trip to a local shop. If someone is to filch our bag on our home street we’ll make a terrible fuss about it and go all barbaric wishing merry member disembodiments for the poor sod.

ONLINE THEFT

It is different online. Everything there belongs to someone and everything we do is bound to cross someone’s content. We end up taking and using tiny bits of content from here and there - all in good faith - just some of us aren’t so well mannered. Hordes of people turn into content funnels that hoover original content and quickly publish it as their original content. I hope to burn such thieves as they take something much more personal than groceries or wedding rings.

LINKS TO GO

Learn something about protecting yourself in a way as your teenage daughter should. Links direct to a site who’s owner left a comment here already some time ago, just paying my respect for the girl.

Fairshare and Copyscape are programs to monitor illegal use of your content. Plagiarism is a bad thing. Remember that you naughty little man.

I try keep the contact action cycle reasonably short, however it is always rather difficult to incorporate requests into content. Furthermore I write generally on Saturday afternoon, so if I get sucked in to my sales work it could be that I react only a week later.
Time constraints also mean that I usually don’t do the normal dance around “What’s in it for me?” In the end I get to see if I am reciprocated. Wasn’t too difficult to come up with something to write, which was related to your site.
