Timepost - extended media

I’ve been thinking the spread of text. I suppose I have to make the jump to using video and sound on this blog. Now that is a rift to cross. It is a whole another game to show your face online compared to faceless and nameless (well, not really, just whois me if you really need to know) text editing.

I already have some old gear at my disposal and it is just matter of heavy drinking when I get the idea of posting some dreadful video post explaining the benefits of wearing ones socks over hands and stuffing cigarettes on my nose. Just because of that gloomy and shameful future, I need to make the jump, no matter how difficult. Well, no extended media here, not even photos, move along…

Timepost - lately I’ve been…

Picking up movie stars and watching their whole production from early days to present. It does take awfully long and sometimes it is a pain to find the next movie in the line. It is oddly rewarding though.

I was always into history and sure enough I’ve seen myself and close ones to age. This is something that I have already accepted and that is bad, because acceptance gives permission to not focus or fuzz about it. Life turns into a stream that goes by and there is very little one thinks of it.

While serial watching somebody’s movies, you get to see the screen life of that person in matter of weeks. Somehow this has made me understand the passing of time in whole new light. Being only a spectator still has power! I’m in my own movie and there is plenty of action and drama in it, if I so choose. You also have the choice, what film you want to lead?

Timepost - compounding posts

This is funny little experiment executed in totally mental manner. Here I am, writing posts that remain in a limbo for a year before emerging to collective consciousness of world’s bloggers. Take that as an example of great ROI. One year all work and no pay, most rational people write, post and immediately get growing traffic. Don’t try this at home unless you want to starve. However, I do encourage you to write occasional timepost or whatever you want to call it. I guarantee that you’ll enjoy the wise words of your younger self. Try a post that shoot 10 years to the future.

Actually that might make a nice little website. Futurepost.com or something, write a post, maybe twitter length and it will be published after some time period. Imagine first… let’s say 3 years of complete white screen and finally posts start to appear. If nobody knew what the interval will be… Constant neurotic behaviour until that day! :) Yeah. Let’s see who puts it up, you can have a link from me.

Timepost - Out in the open

First visible post is out of the cage and sitting wild in interconnected web. The whole idea of my first post is to update and promote it and by doing this give it some undeserved attention. During the coming years (hah, can you believe domain like this is to stay in the long run) I hope to update the title (visitor count) higher and higher. No photos yet, because those were a pain to link properly.

Timepost - my first official post

Year ago tomorrow is the day for my first official post in Fake Money Blog (capital letters make anything official). I wrote the framework today and plan to go it through tomorrow and then post it.

Has anyone been watching TV-series called Heroes? Even after this second post I start to get all mixed up on how should I deal with time referrals… Should I use the point of view of a current timeposter or a future timeposter, after all you are reading this right now, but for you I wrote this crap a year ago. I’ll probably deal with it like I deal with this blog - drop it to the floor after use like dirty underwear. And just like my wife, I believe some of you will read after my lines and keep yapping about it.

Timepost - The beginning

It’s year 2008 and here you have it - the post from the past. Blogs have most peculiar reasons to exist and here crystallizes my reason. I believe that phytiatic declarations shout out to the darkness of future are closest thing to emulate marketing without actually doing any marketing.

We shall see how my prophesies hit their mark and we’ll see it in the most convenient way. No need to link to old posts and selectively gloat with occasional “told-you-so”s, just read it and judge it. I’d like to start by stating that this post hits right in the middle of silence and for quite some time is a sign of blog life.

Sales stories carnival volume 19

SELL IT! ON A WEB

This one is a beauty. Sell it! on a web writes about cross and up selling both of which are often neglected in the sales process as some kind of externalities. It is true that one shouldn’t think them as important as the normal sales process in what comes to generating turnover, but the real value of cross and up selling is in the extra value that customer experiences. Now go and read what the article says about it.

Youre out!

THE DIGERATI LIFE

Benchmarking used to be the hype word about 538 years ago. That old practice from ancient marketing and business management history was exactly that came into my mind while reading the article submission from The Digerati Life. It is a good read if you want to learn how to analyze the stance and business strategy of your competitor by looking into their advertising. Oh, by the way, the article is hilarious.
